You should always ensure that you use natural, non-toxic safe cleaning products around your home whenever possible. If you search around the garage or house you will find many items that you may have purchased for other purposes that can be used to help you clean.
Safe cleaning products include, but are not limited to, baking soda, lemon juice, salt, olive oil, vinegar, washing soda, borax, citrus and cornstarch. Some of these items you will find in your kitchen, others may be in your laundry room or under the sink. All of these products are safe and effective and do not contain any synthetic chemicals.
Cleaning up can take a considerable amount of time out of your daily routine. You expend a lot of energy getting rid of lime deposits in the bathroom, scrubbing the oven, working the carpets, cleaning the furniture and the seemingly never ending array of problem areas. Do your bit for the environment by only using safe cleaning products. To save yourself a lot of time, install an absorbent mat in areas that are vulnerable to spills. These mats will collect any mess as it happens and save you from getting on your hands and knees.
More than half of indoor pollutants can be attributed to the use of commercial household cleaners, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency. Noxious and harmful fumes can be given off by these cleaners. In addition, some of these cleaners are very abrasive and can add to the problem. If you have to deal with a spill in the garage, a commercial cleaner can cause additional damage to the surface whilst cleaning the original mess. If you place an absorbent mat, you can avoid having to deal with the spill at all. An absorbent mat can be easily cleaned and can absorb a lot of liquid.
Harsh chemicals found in typical, commercial cleaners can be very bad for the environment. During the cleaning process the ingredients can be flushed into our waste water systems, causing pollution in our waterways. Once we are finished with these cleaners, we throw the plastic containers away and as these are not biodegradable, they end up in our landfills. It makes a lot of sense to use safe cleaning products exclusively.
When looking for safe cleaning products for everyday use, make sure that you stock up on white vinegar. This is a natural antibacterial and should be diluted with water. For a very small amount of money, white vinegar can clean most of your home. When you are short of laundry detergent, use a little bit of baking soda with some white vinegar and dilute " you are good to go.
Take the decision to use safe cleaning products exclusively within your home and stock up on natural products. Feel good about the fact that you will never have to buy another commercial cleaner again. At the same time, install some absorbent mats in areas that are vulnerable to spills. These mats will collect liquids and you will not have to clean up any stains.
When you combine the use of natural, safe cleaning products with the introduction of absorbent mats, you will save a great deal of precious time cleaning. Not only that, but you will save a lot of money in the process as well as benefiting the environment.
