For many of us, it is time to begin decorating our homes in preparation for the holiday season. If you are like most of us, you still have the old, traditional Christmas lights that you have been using for years. The Halloween decorations are likely just as old and tired. This may be the perfect time to think about upgrading to solar holiday lights.
Decorating your home for the holidays can be a lot of fun, but it can also be a huge hassle. You have to replace bulbs for burned out lights, run power chords everywhere, your electric bill goes through the roof - not to mention that you are always nervous when it rains! None of those problems exist with solar holiday lights, but do they look good?
Recently, the growing development of solar lighting technology has opened the door for manufacturers to offer more styles and options than ever. Solar Halloween and Christmas lights are no exception. Some Christmas lighting examples might be:
Solar Net lights - These lights are solar LED lights that are arraigned in a net. They are used for covering bushes and shrubs. They have daylight sensors that turn them off during the day and back on when the sun goes down. They have about an 8 hour light span.
Solar String Lights - String lights usually come in a string of 50 LED lights. They also come with a sensor that turns them off during the day and back on at night. They are great for stringing along your front porch railing, the eves, in trees and just about anywhere else you want.
Multicolor Solar LED Christmas Lights - These are exactly like the Solar string lights, except that they are multicolored. They also have 50 LED bulbs and daylight sensors.
Blue Snow Flake Solar Lights - These lights are beautiful and can be found very inexpensively. Unfortunately, some people had reported problems with the lights not working after a couple of months, but others have had no issues. They come in a string of 20, and can be found for as low as $7.99, so I will leave it up to you. I do know that the main company that sells them has a very good ranking on Amazon.
If you're looking for Halloween decorations, you can choose:
Solar Lighted Halloween Jack-o-lantern Decoration - This is an 8" diameter solar powered, smiling jack-o-lantern ornament that you can put in your front yard or porch. It comes with a daylight sensor that turns it off during the day and on at night.
Halloween Sound Activated Rocks GO BACK or BOO Yard Decorations - These are 9.5" by 6 by 4 rocks that light up at night with a greeting for visitors. Choose either "Go Back" or "Boo". They are, of course, solar powered and have a daylight sensor.
Solar Powered Lighted Halloween Skull Decoration - This is basically the same as the smiling pumpkin, but a little bit bigger and in skull form.
Every one of these holiday decorations comes with the benefits of being solar powered. They all run for about 8 hours on a charge. No jumbles of wires to worry about, or burned out bulbs. No manually turning them on and off or plugging them into timers (the daylight sensors turn them on and off when needed). Best of all, no more huge electric bills! That is about as hassle free as you can get!
I hope this article was able to give you some ideas for the upcoming holidays.
